Happy Spirit Astilbe is a very new perennial from Holland. This shade tolerant perennial has fluffy white flowers in mid summer. When Happy Spirit is not blooming, the finely dissected leaves are a deep forest green, highlighted by deep red stems. The foliage adds contrast to other shade perennials in your garden. Astilbe prefer evenly moist soil and do not tolerate dry conditions. When establishing your astilbe roots, do not allow the plant to dry out, especially in hot summer conditions. Plant astilbe in groups of 3-5 plants per area for best appearance.
