One of the most popular spring flowers and with good reason, the scent and stature of the Lily of the Valley is unmatched in the garden. The Bordeaux Lily of the Valley is superior to the standard old fashioned Lily of the Valley: the flowers are larger, more abundant, and even the base of the stems is accented with a bright pinkish-red color.
Extremely delicate, the flowers are held above the foliage for better viewing, which is another reason the Bordeaux Lily of the Valley is a great improvement to the older varieties which tend to hide the blooms. These fragrant flowers remain in bloom for a good 8-10 weeks and make excellent cut flowers for bud vases placed throughout the house. Naturalizing rapidly, this plant is a great alternative to other, less interesting groundcovers for shaded areas.
