I was skeptical about the wax base amaryllis idea, but really found it to be a great product. It truly is a "no care needed" item and I really enjoyed mine. It is sure a great gift idea for anyone who doesn't really like to "play in the dirt". It flowers and then can be discarded. No planting or watering. Plan on getting more next year.

Never heard of these before, but decided to order and see what it was all about. Ended up ordering three times, either singles or the "set" of three, for myself or as gifts. All orders arrived quickly and well-packed. The bulbs are a nice size - not as big as some of the "regular" amaryllis bulbs I ordered. So far, one is in full bloom with two strong stems and 4 flowers each, one is just ready to open on the first of two stems. I was worried they would get real tall and fall over, but they are about 12-18" and the heavy wire coil on the bottom keeps them stabile (stable?). My giftees and I agree that they are fun to watch and are even pretty to display before they bloom. The wax is thick and has a gloss to it. The growth started within a couple of days. I will definitely order these again.
