This beautiful blue bearded iris is rightly named, as it blooms with a bit of Victorian era flair. Each sky blue fall of the Victoria Falls is adorned with a small patch of white which highlights the white beards of these gorgeous flowers. And the best part of this particular iris? It re-blooms!
To get your re-blooming Bearded Iris to bloom again a couple steps are necessary. First, when the first set of flowers finishes in early summer, remove the flower stems. This will help store energy in the rhizome to produce more flowers. Second, be sure to fertilize after the first set of blooms, as re-blooming Bearded Iris need those extra nutrients to support the second set of blooms. Bearded Iris tolerate drought, however, re-blooming Bearded Iris will benefit from being kept consistently moist during the summer to help reserve energy for the second bloom period that happens later in the season.
Flower used for February Birthdays and 25th Wedding Anniversaries.
